Jenna-Caer Seefried went from 50 pounds overweight to an age group world champion, thanks to triathlon. Now she wants to help more athletes realize what triathlon and sport can do in their lives as well.

From new athletes doing their first triathlons to those who have been in the sport for a few years and are trying to take their performance to the next level, Jenna loves to guide her athletes through all the barriers of getting started and show them no matter what their current fitness level or time restrictions, triathlon is within reach.

“Whether you are swimming, biking or running your first miles or a seasoned competitor trying to break PR’s, you need a customized plan that works for your lifestyle. We’re not robots and don’t have the time to train like the pros, so let’s make the most of the time you have available.  I’m a mom, wife, a business owner, and an athlete.  Finding a balance with training and life is essential to being successful in the sport.”

Online training and technology allows athletes to train on their time and know exactly what targets to hit.  Jenna does testing with her athletes to set zones and paces to train at so they know exactly how hard and how long to go for to make the most of training time.

Jenna also helps her female athletes navigate the specific issues women face in running and triathlon, such as:

  • Training through pregnancy and postpartum
  • Fitting in training while balancing a family
  • Different responses to training and nutrition during specific times of the monthly cycle

Paired with the MaccaX team environment with access to experts in everything from nutrition to physiotherapy to mental toughness and fellow athletes around the world for encouragement and experience, athletes get a whole toolbox of resources to ensure they are successful.

Jenna is certified as a REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) level 3 personal trainer and is an Ironman University certified coach. She has also been mentored by leading endurance coaches and has done her fair share of self-experimentation to learn more about the sport and what works.

“I understand how hard it is to balance family life: I’ve trained with a full-time job and now as a working time-crunched mom.  It’s not the hours of training that count so much as what you do with those hours.”

Social Media Love

I have lost around 75 lbs and kept it off. I am proud of my accomplishments and am happy with my body. There are still flaws that I am constantly working on, but I have a healthy balance. My husband is my rock and is always amazed and proud of me and that fuels my drive to push myself harder every week.

I have a fabulous coach who pushes me past my comfort zones and I’m so glad she does. I went from running 2 mins on the treadmill and basically coughing blood to just recently finishing a half marathon and surpassing my goal time of 10 minutes!! Working on minor improvements in my body and working on getting faster/completing a full marathon without dying.

I think the thing I like the most is I don’t feel stressed out by my training schedule and what is coming up. I know I can get through what is planned for the week and I don’t have to think about what is coming up in the weeks to come (i.e. getting harder/longer). I can just focus on that day’s workout putting all my effort and focus into that workout. Interesting because I didn’t even know this worried before [sic] when I was doing my own training schedules. Thank you for that gift.
